@Loki.. i don’t think this intro is as early as you date it. Having the sinusscroller rotate too was something i think i saw for the first time in a silents or rebels product from Alta. Way later than 1989, and certainly later than when D.O.C stopped.
hhmm i was quite sure .. but as said :crazy
we have never dealt with VF guys in person …
but sure I remember that our main coder admired Marco’s Cracks 😉
mnemotron was in silicon league in 1987/1988. afterwards he joined black division/black monks.
for silicon league he coded intros (mission andromeda, shit game, nice sinescrole intro with dave whittaker music). i remember ram hunter, who was their spreader and organizer.
i think twoflower is right and there is a mistake in exotica with mnemos membership in d.o.c.
Hey Twoflower Nice someone remembers the old days 😉 Haha … AFL, Sabine & co … lol My AFL comment was related to the Cracker Journal, as Docter Mabuse was one of its (or its) main editor at that time … Mnemotron was a member of Black Monks in 1989 before he joined Spreadpoint. (But as far as i know, he have been in several groups also at the same time) With Kiel you probably mean Marco Polo (one of the greatest crackers at that time) … It s a pitty to have such less sources to relate on …… Read more »
Dear Loki, D.O.C became inactive after P.E.N.I.S 3 – They have not been active after 1989. Unknown started professional work (Dynablaster) after his Suundtracker expierience and he released later a Demo for D-Tect (very similar style to the D.O.C. Muzakdisk with the Vector analyser). Mnemotron is offically listed in the History of Exotica: http://www.exotica.org.uk/info/scenery/online/d.html as Member of DOC, but I think he was from Spreadpoint. For sure, I can?t remember what they did in Kiel with the guys from Vision Factory, who lived in Kiel as well (Kevin and ???). At least, I don?t think that anyone from DOC joint… Read more »
I remember this intro (with another font?) from Bullsfrohs Populous! Discreet style with an famous soundeffect (1 sample, 2 tracks, playerd in parallel with millisec. distance) – RULEZ! :yes
The first VF intro which used a sine scrolly …
Many would follow … Must be also one of their first cracktros at all
Probably middle 1989 when D.O.C (Doctor Mabuse Crackings) was still alive as they soon left the scene afterwards or joined Alpha Flight …
(hope I remember right)
Vision Factory … One of the greatest Teams
always liked them a lot
updated
loki, i think dr. mabuse from d.o.c. and dr. mabuse from afl/cracker journal were two persons. maybe that’s the mistake
@newton: This piece was coded by DOC
and I had it in front of Popolus which is
dated late 89s …
