It’s simple, but the tune r0x, and the starfield is proper. All makes a good mood, proper cracktro style. Love it. Nothing fancy but addictive! Thx for converting it.

i used to mail-swap with someone in TST, a really fast guy, he sent me R-Type, way b4 anybody else did.
Well enough – it got a scroller! 😉 Again somewhat sexually loaded scroll text with a hmm at the end.. Anyway, any history for the “tartan army” as a name? I could figure out the Scottish connection with the name and members but is that so? 😉
haha sorry about the scroller, pretty embarrassing.. what can I say.. we were young 😉
Not so sure about who named the group.. They were going before I joined.. But yes we were all Scottish and the Tartan Army is the name for the Scottish football supporters so probably named after that!
I figured you were the culprit! First time I ever saw someone cracking an Amiga game was you working on “Powerdrome” from EA, I think that may have been in the TA+TST days too? “**bs Utils Disk” was the essential disk back then amongst wanna-be crackers/sceners, which you kindly let many of us copy – a belated thanks 🙂
Was that in the shop in Aberdeen? Yeah probably was Tartan Army.. maybe even Oracle… can’t remember! I’m pretty sure I’ve still got Rabs Utilities in my attic somewhere! 🙂
Yes, it was in the (in)famous shop 🙂 I found a copy of Rabs Utils when I was going through my old stuff, but all it did was click repeatedly and fail to image a single track of the disk using KryoFlux – seriously dead floppy 🙁
Dave Jones from DMA actually gave us that to spread knowing we were in the scene and knowing we’d get it far and wide. Dave used to run a computer club at the university of Abrtay in Dundee which is where i got to know him. (he was in the scene in the early days too, Kent Team i think). That was when i first started dabbling in game coding and DMA were supplying me graphics for a game which i was doing in my spare time but i was too lazy and it came to nothing.. I was offered… Read more »

I always wondered about the coop with The Supply Team and later also Kefrens from Denmark
Not sure.. Scott used to deal with that side of things..
Ooh.. I coded that! 🙂

What is the story behind this preview? Was it a demo disk from a magazine if so was it protected?
