Redone from scratch.
OK then by that definition, mine was a single frame "eight pixel sine scroll". Made the code really simple.
for sure this one is one of the typical amiga cracktros and is well known! its one of those where everything fits 100%! for me in personal there are some like the paranoimia one for super cars II f.e. …but much more of course…
Would be a interesting to know which intro is generally regarded as the most beautiful or favourite considering the mass of productions where out there …
Whatever the outcome may be … I am pretty sure that this here must be the most well known and wide spread and if any release may be ever associated with the Amiga Scene I guess here we are too .. Rest in Peace my Dear Youth & Thank You!
A "two pixel sine scroll" refers to how many pixels follow a different sine… so a 2pixel version only has half the blits of a 1pixel sinescroll (and a 4pixel sinescroll has half again, and so on…). They should all run in 1 frame though, or you’ve failed 🙂 And yes, many demosceners and other people coded intros for cracking groups – either because they were friendly with the members or because they got something in return (leech accounts, cards, whatever). Torchman: I too was surprised to see Dan of Anarchy coding cracktros for the likes of Skid Row, who had many excellent coders themselves. Maybe they were just too damn busy cracking games to code cracktros too I thought that happens all the time? Most of the coders are busy cracking, so churning out an intro is better left to external coders. For instance, didn’t Corto, Skywalker, Brainwalker, Nomad all do intros for other groups? One of my fave cracktros on Lemmings, which was a game I played regularly. I think pretty much everyone had this crack of lemmings lol. Love the music by 4matt who used to knock out some great little tunes. I too was surprised to see Dan of Anarchy coding cracktros for the likes of Skid Row, who had many excellent coders themselves. I think this is one of the best intro ever…..
"Simple" but the combination of tune(!!!), text writer, scroll text, sprite stars was really nice those (and even these) days.
Is on the same level as the intro from Nomad’s PP Hammer(Crystal).

I never realized Skid Row had anyone else coding their intros. Kind of ironic that "Core" would essentially be coding a crack intro hehehhe – iN7!/Syn

well, well, I remember better optimized sinus scrollers by Slayer/Scoopex in old SCX cracktros! 🙂
It’s a classic (that I recently remade in 4k :D) and nice but it is NOT optimized

well the sine-scroller was 2pix (maybe even 3? can’t remember) but still if it was 2pix then I’m clapping my hands too… maybe we should ask Dan directly … anyway, perfect intro for me !
