The famous Scoopex intro. Notice how the logo is antialiased? Yeah, that’s what I’m talking about! That’s attention to detail.
What a classic Amiga intro, one that screams “Amigaaa!!!” all the way from the ’90’s. Those were such damn good times, we were hopeful for the future and for a while it looked like the future 20 years from then would be grand. The society went to toilet instead.
There are torrents of that BBS and another one from Fortress BBS in Belgium or Boondocks in Netherlands which have more files that were towards the later part of the scene. You could also look for the Bamiga Sector One backup which is a real treasure trove for early scene stuff but it’s all disk image based as there were no (affordable) harddrives. I believe all of them are on EAB’s FTP server…

Sometimes a logo, starfield, beautiful sinescroll and tune is all you need. Simple. Classic. Love it.
You couldn’t be more right.
Smooth scrollers always r0x!
I like that slick scroller!!!! 🙂
hires sinus. nothing wrong with that 🙂
Were those the numbers for The Edge?
Don’t think it is, but i can’t get those numbers to match any Scoopex bbs’
Edge was Silents WHQ. There were the old Boiler Room numbers afair…
was boiler room good back then? It was a bit of a sad affair when i called it
No, Boiler Room was never really a ‘top tier’ BBS from memory 😛

He was in GOD for a while; never a super fast BBS as mentioned below. Just sysop was a very nice guy. BBS was 2 nodes and was online for a LONG time.
That zik!

One of the smoothest I’ve seen. Nice!
Remember Betrayal intro by SCSI on “The Chaos Strikes Back”?
Very cool… always liked that smooth sinescroll movement.
