Have never liked this one and never understood all the hype about.
It’s a rather disgusting teenage(?) stuff.
The music is really cool, thou. The logo and 16×16 are nice, as well.
Hi SToRM.
Thanks for the answer.
Yes, I read some scrollers (and not only) about Angels and Paradox issues back in the days. Fighting about suppliers, first cracks, a (ruthless) competition and ego centrism trips.
Do not have a YT account to see the answer. I suppose you refer to the rather childish Angels’ answer to, iIrc, Oliver…
But still. Man ;).
That’s because “piracy” is utter bullshit! There is nothing wrong with “piracy” because it is not wrong to do this, just because some assholes managed to make it a law – laws are not perfect nor have they ever been just or equitable!
Anybody who says copying software is illegal is hiding behind a law made by humans who aren’t infallible, and therefore that person is a fucking asshole. Copying software will never be wrong!!!
yes very simple.. the equation for an ellipse is:
x = rx * cos a – ry * sin a
y = ry * sin a + ry * sin a
with rx and ry are your radius for the ellipse and a is the angle that sweeps through 0-360 degrees (or 0 – 2 * PI radians). You can pre-calculate all of these points and just make each bob sweep the full 360 degree path (or however many points you want on the ellipse) and swap the character to a new one when it reaches the end point.
It fit the progressive nature of Paradox. I found it funny at the time

childish indeed, but some people even had to go to jail, so there was some cut-throat stuff goin’ on.
Well. Some ppl went, indeed. Some even very lately.
One day one shall ask oneself where is the line and… a reason.
Some people are still going to jail. Just never learn I guess. Maximillian is going back to prison again.

so sad to read this. it’s just not worth it. But piracy is a hard to resist temptation for some of us.

“Do you feel it Angels?” – I’m sure they did, this one will never be forgotten (even if it’s technically/visually not impressive!)
Technically not impressive?!? 30 years later my mind is still blown by that circular scroller. I still have no idea how I would implement that.
I mean… it’s just a few 1-bitplane bobs moving on a (circular-ish) sinelist, I’m sure you could code it in less than an hour 😛
Is it really that simple? How fast would the Blit routine have to be?

Despite of the “legendary status” I never like this one that much as an intro what so ever. The zik is memorable.
The ultimate one. Stone cold knockout.
