The reason I needed CPU hog of a replayer is for precise timing (to the tune) of various visualizations in this intros. Now I’ve added an option for a little less CPU intensive player that wont be as good, but will work on slower devices. Also, I don’t consider myself a javascript guru either. There is probably a lot of room for optimizatons in my code. But, I’m trying. I’ve tested this on MacBook Pro and iMac (i5 processor) and it seems to run smoothly in Firefox (57.0.4 currently), while a bit choppy (from time to time) in Safari (10.1.1?).… Read more »
I’m saying JavaScript and HTML5 aren’t ready for prime time yet, wasn’t commenting on whether your code is good or bad. This yokota character has been on my case before because I’ve been critical of ’80’s shit intros on the Amiga, and now he’s seriously starting to exacerbate my allergy to assholes. And in Safari the tune plays almost okay but the scroller is really slow and choppy. This JavaScript HTML5 stuff isn’t ready for prime time yet.

😀 TStorm did this intro 😀 I wonder if he is pissed 😛 This works fine on my IOS so it must be just a MAC problem. TStorm added 2 re players to choose from now, so maybe that will help with the performance issues
works totally fine on my 2011 iMac, so definitely no issues even on older machines. the only time i ever experience any issues is on my iphone 7+ (usually no sound, or choppy motion). thanks for all your great work!

The tune is dragging really slow and choppy (and no it’s not a cache problem). Chrome on the newest macOS.
