Great crack intro! I admit I haven’t even thought about how the effect is done but it looks sick, well done, Brainwalker! Sweet tune by WOTW too! And this comments thread here is quite a hall of fame as well. Flashtro forever!
And anyone that says a ‘simple’ effect can’t be cool need to go rethink that statement. Really clever what Brainwalker has done, yet so damned simple. For those that want to know, if you concentrate on only one moving part of the effect its almost possible to see how its done, but all that complex movement and maths you think is there……isn’t. Its two bitmaps, one scrolling diagonally down moving from left to right, and the other bitmap is scrolling diagonally up from left to right, and when the two bitmaps cross over gives the effect of lots more going… Read more »
Now *this* is what I call a cracktro. Something so simple that just looks so tricky and cool and the chiptune absolutely rules.
Stuff like this is why I consider cracktros to truly be an art form. Great stuff. 🙂

It’s an optical illusion daison, if you view the separate bitplanes in memory using the AR you will instantly see how it’s done 🙂 Brainwalker is a smart guy!

He was one of those people who couldn’t actually do anything himself (code/crack/supply/anything), so he used "force of personality" to force young kids to do his bidding… usually the older you were, the less you listened to his bullshit 🙂
Nowadays, I bet he’s a senior producer at a games company, they seem to employ people like that 🙂
Yeah but what image, it’s not like anyone held him or hold him in any kind of high regard. But if nothing else it shows that even jerks are remembered.
Zelnik had a very large mouth to match his unusually bloated ego. For some reason he immdeiately got in my face the first time I logged on to Involuntary Death (a BBS) due to the fact I was Norwegian and in his opinion Norwegians were lamers. Needless to say we got into a pretty hefty fight after that.
I suppose it was his way of creating an image for himself and he succeeded when we discuss it here 15 years later hehe.

About ZELNIK.. I never forget on the Red Sector/Silents party where ZELNIK was forced to walk around with a sign saying "I AM ZELNIK, I AM LAME" Those were the days 🙂

yeah the effect is nice…did it for a megademo i was working on with flash/fcg/radwar …but hell after we showed it on the jungle command party…we didnt feel to show it others again, and deleted it 😉

Well Zelnik was a fool… Es was the leader of Nemesis too… Ministry died after 6 months – many releases – many internal foolish things. It was a worst group – mabye the worstest i was ever in. But Ministry got succes..

MINISTRY – i still miss my friends Radar, Zelnik, Bob Duncan and the rest of this great team. This was the only group wich got 5 releases a day and more cracker then originals….

Btw. on my winuae config i had to do TRANS 10000 40000 50000 to see it.
i scratched my head for some time on this one ,:crazy wondering how to recreate that wobble effect ,almost pissed myself laughing when i found out how its done ,so easy ,(open actionreplay and type this ,TRANS 90000 9a000 50000) heheheh and you will see DOH!
