@daison: That was the point of the 2nd paragraph of my post, if you read it…? When I said, "this decade", I meant 2000-2010 on the c64…I was observing the Amiga influence that I know a few of the current purveyors of "cool" would certainly try and deny. I don’t know if you can copyright rotating stars unless you truly did it first, and I kinda doubt even melon were the very first to rotate a star. ‘We’ stole a lot of amiga things too though 😉 Including this kind of style and even the rotating stars (Edge of Disgrace!).
I like the melon vibe. The design more inspirational than the average effect.
Yeah. I have to admit I love a ton of Melon intros…they certainly generated a wave of conformity to their notion that design is *everything* and pastel type (non coder colors) schemes are in. However, I am a fanatical lover of scrollers and I feel what you are saying…plus, I occasionally like to see bright clashy colors as it takes me back to the 80’s. Everyone seems to drool over Mellon intros, and while I’ll give them that they were innovative and original in many ways, what always pissed me about Mellon is that they didn’t have a scroller in their intros… extremely annonying.
They did start a trend of "clean" dezign that can still be seen in PC cracktros up to this present day…

I remember getting this on the game NSP, and seeing the little Melon logo appear and thinking YES Melon/Crystal Qualtiy!!(i havent seen these 2 togetehr in a while) but then i noticed it said Ministry :no
