Thanks for that, as I suspected, Inner City couldn’t do Saint Dragon…… they took the Skid Row version and changed the intro and stuff and released it as ‘their’ version. It’s well known that the Skid Row version was a magazine review copy, it has certain text in it that didn’t appear in the final version, and the Inner City one is verbatim the same. Fair enough, ADS was a member of Inner City and he too got magazine review copies of games, but because of the way the disk format for Saint Dragon works, its not likely that both… Read more »
That’s a pretty bold move as surely anyone with your skills could have come to the same conclusion. Adding all the hoohaa to SR and even comments to the game’s developer…. Takes a new dimension of tw*t to pull off such stupidity.
I suspect the Inner City version was nuked off the boards back in the day as a dupe, so no-one ever discovered them ripping Skid Row off. I only remember the Skid Row version from back in the day, and me being in the UK, the Inner City one would have had to be REALLY poorly spread for the Skid Row version to get spread so widely first.
If my memory serves me right the zik is called “red sector-theme” by 4-Mat. Don’t remember which demo had it, but I used this mod as my test module for StarTrekker Packer and gp32 mlib 😉
Yes, SR released this as well. Yes, it was botched. But whether Inner City will be remembered? Never heard of them before this intro. Absolute great tune though — what demo what this from again? (Dr.Awesome?)
Music is also known as Electric Revenge as was the title music for the game Shockwave by Digital Magic. Also, Skid Row didn’t fuck up Saint Dragon, it was a magazine review copy with some minor differences.
Nah, Wayne Kerr remembers more than me, but I did the WHDLoad install for Shockwave so I remember it well (and Skid Row did fuck that one up lol!), and I had a ‘discussion’ with someone on EAB about Saint Dragon as well, argument didn’t go well for him 😉
Very interesting reading here below….
Good intro non the less, nice tune too….
Classic elements (in the intro totally unknown to me).
colourful sinus but would look nicer with a logo too I think.
Looks ‘strikingly’ (sorry 🙂 similar to this one https://flashtro.com/flashtro/betrayal-chaos-strikes-back/ from Betrayal, also from late 1990.
I dont suppose anyone has the full Inner City crack?
You have mail

Man… Your memory is infallible. (Or did you just go off on a fact-finding mission? 🙂
