Inner City were mostly known for their Co-op with Mayhem, and only had any releases because of ADS who knew someone in the magazines. Inner City later folded with most members restarting Slipstream. Kid Video became Data, and everyonr knows Skol. He was part of the reason I got invited to join Fairlight.
Yeah I only knew Ads because of Quartex, but I didn’t know Kid Video was Data’s old nickname (I knew Data + Skol pretty well around the time they started doing trainers in Slipstream) – thanks for that 🙂
Anthrox were the #1 trainer group on Amiga (check World Charts etc from those days), and Skol was their best trainermaker… nothing to do with being from UK. If you were on the boards/in the scene, you know…
I know of Anthrox, and yes they were #1 trainers. However, I don’t remember any names, so can’t say that any person in particular from Anthrox made an impression. In my time, the UK scene was a distant, remote and almost mythical world, so there would have been no way to know that Inner City metamorphosed into Anthrox. And now that I think about it some more, maybe that’s not such a bad thing: in retrospective, too many members in various groups were focused on self-promotion rather than brand promotion of the group they were in.
