Based on my recollection from that era, a group founded by a bunch of Belgians from Brussels: Joey Beltram (who around that same time made the infamous BBS Black List), Badamon, Gordh and probably behind the scenes Ermida and The Red Baron (BS1). They all congregated around the same store in Brussels, called AmigaCity – a source for quite a few originals in the late 80’s/early 90’s.

How’s come Belgium had such a strong cracking scene? Was the copyright law lax or something?

I am not sure it was particularly strong… I think it had some reasonably famous groups in the early days (The Band / BS1) and some ‘celebrity’ crackers like Phil Douglas but that is it really. We did have a disproportionate amount of POBOX’s for the big groups; I think EVERY major group pretty much had a POBOX in Belgium at a given time.

Yeah that’s true. I remember. Amay was a popular post office box destination. I wonder why every major group had one in Belgium? It fascinates me to this day.

Amay was Subzero’s POBOX so it followed wherever he went.

The Netherlands and Belgium doesnt have had something like a copyright law for “cracked” utilities and games at that time. I was confused, that World of Wonders and Paranoimia had a Box in Aachen (DE) for long time and they never get cought by the bulls ; ) as they did very much “advertising” in big Games Magazines with this Adress.
