When Brian the Lion was released by Hoodlum, Classic and Comax, Black Cat was bragging that theirs was truly 100% because of the second doc check further in the game, and that he got both protections, really making a big deal about it.
Needless to say both the Classic and Comax versions were already 100% without the need to let everyone know.
Well EoL was at least a nice guy, not something anyone would accuse Black Cat of being 😛 Algorithm was the ‘real’ cracker of that bunch (E.F.A = EoL, Ferris, Algorithm), I think the other 2 were basically his disciples learning from him!
This was an inside supply so our feline friend would have had the luxury of time. That being said, I did see Prestige put out a version 5 months later… Has anyone played the two versions and can tell the difference? Was Prestige’s version a proper (crack) or was it a “final sales / retail version”?
I was referring to an obituary in an old “Paradigm”-Intro, which this group dedicated to him a year later and didn’t thought the rumor about the death of a direct contact inside a Group would last over a year.
The real question here is… did the game work? 😛
Black Cat wasn’t exactly known for his quality, or testing anything he released…
Earl of Lennox wasn’t much better either.

Did the Black cat crack only on the Amiga?
What became of him?
Annatar: Afaik he was still active in the PC scene until 96, then he died of an drug overdose..
He didnt die, I have been told he is alive and well, just had to avoid some people so the story of his death was spread.

‘t was a rumour to avoid some (serious) troubles back in the days.
He’s definitely alive and yes, it was a rumour to avoid problems with the police.
23 years ago today… Thanks for making me feel old — ehrm — the trip down memory lane 🙂
I never even noticed the date 😛
nice tune
It’s an Amiga remake of a classic C=64 tune. Nice. I feel so old now.
