Since a week or something I was thinking about this great Crionics (and the Silents) Demo. I was silently counting the years which passed since the release. I counted twice, to be sure. I got smile on my face thinking about the demo, and a small tear in my eye cause of the number… And today I opened this site and bumped into this remake. Terminal Storm, thank you very much for this nice remake. Of course, everyone of us has its own memories and taste. But never the less it is/was you who did this trubute =). Thus thank… Read more »

A very appealing and modern looking collage that captures the spirit of yore and brings back memories. The twister is great! And thanks a lot for the greetings. I am feeling honored.
A Happy New Year to you all.

Well now, here is a 10/10 production! It has everything: slick fonts, slick graphics and nice music… “Hardwired” by Crionics and The Silents really did set the standard – nothing would be the same afterwards and it made all the demos which came before it look like amateurish crap (and honestly, it was). It showed what happens when people with a sense of style, ambition and skill can accomplish and wow did they deliver! I remember when my buddy 7seven fired it up on the Amiga, we were at a computer meeting and there was noise and chaos everywthere but… Read more »

Very cool idea to put all the key elements on one screen, it represents the hardwired feeling amazingly. Just the toilet is missing 😛 Cant cope with the chiptune, it mismatches the visuals imho but the first rendition is delicious.
Where does the android image originate from? Was it repixeled entirely?
Good job! \o/

What do you think the chromed fellow is sitting on? 😛 Talking of rendered toilet, for years I’ve been watching the version where the toilet part was broken. It was mid 90’s when I’ve discovered interwebs and was able to retrieve the bugfree version off the aminet. After the initial wow effect has worn out, on occasions it even started to feel a bit off. 🙂 Android image is a jpg scan of Vallejo’s painting I found online. I’ve limited its palette (gradient mapping, perhaps posterisation and dithering), fixed a background so its not all over the place and resized… Read more »

Thanx, Tim. Means a lot coming from someone who excels at design. Myself, never believed design to be my forté.

woaw, thx Terminal Storm (TStorm) for this gr8 tribute. The trackmo Hardwired by The Silents and Crionics, released on the 28th december 1991, still rulez supreme. Can’t go wrong with a boris vallejo picture (chrome robot). Smooth vertical twist- scroller and kewl tune nr.2 by estrayk. And thx for the greeting. Happy new year 2022 to all of you.

TStorm, this was very entertaining for me – i was right inside my memory of that fantastic demo – respect for giving me lust to watch that demo again.
Ahhh, then this chippy came – lol, why not restart original sound?
Only complain is that twisterscroller moves way too fast for my taste. Thanks for greeting and for keeping the old times alive!
Happy new year!

Glad it made you re-watch the demo. That was the whole point of this. I’ve been watching it around this time of year for many years now. Sort of a tradition. 🙂
As for the chip tune – I figured the original (and remix) would be a bit too “heavy” to loop constantly in a small intro like this.
Happy New Year, everyone!
