@EmuChicken: Back then everything you see (almost) was realtime calculated. There simply wasn’t enough memory to precalc anything, and also it was frowned upon unless it was a particularly cool effect (like wobbly vector graphics). So for these intros you can pretty much assume that everything was rendered realtime. hehe remembering my own 3d filled vector routine: first rotate the coordinates, then linedraw them using the blitter linedraw mode and lastly fill them with the blitter fill mode. then delete the screen again for the next frame to be drawn (using doublebuffering and deleting half with blitter and half with… Read more »
I always LOVED this intro and I still do, I can just admit what mr. Spiv says. Theres something that lets you want to watch the intro again and again, it must have something to do with the moony music, which is played far too fast in this conversion and destroys the whole ambiance.
Hey musashi you would do me a personal favour when you fix the music routine on this one.
This intro has something.. dunno what exactly but I remember just been watching it again and again (when it was released and many times after that also..)
It makes you think, why do crackers just crack games and not make them themselves? The 3d ship is prettyyy … unless it was just a cheat, Im sure Id be able to do it now easily with 3ds max, but …. back then wouldnt they have coded that?
I must admit, I don’t remember ever seeing this one on a real Amiga! But, the music sounds like it’s replaying at 60hz when it’s meant to be @ 50hz to me :con
thanx @ loki .. better late as never 😛

i think the music is playing correctly… it has been a long time though.
Nice one. A cracktro for a Paint prog. :-)))
Whoa! Astaroth playing at least 2 times faster than normal
never saw this one back in time, and it’s true that music sounds too fast… Anyway, nice little intro 🙂
