My first memory of Crystal Hammer was in 1987 or so, a friend’s dad had an A1000 and Crystal Hammer. I couldn’t believe how great the sound effects were, as I had only played c64 games up until that point. Being in NTSC land, this song played considerably faster on our Amigas and now unfortunately my ears were trained to comprehend this song with a much faster tempo.
Very kewl, its from J.J., who later joined The Light Circle and the rest is history 😉
He did also a Demo for Blizzard which is also released under TLC, the same demo 😉
This was one of the very first intros I have ever seen on Amiga…in the time of the Movers, Hotline, Champs, Ian and Mic and all the others…I love the blizzard intro with the Sleepwalk tune… it was delightend to me in that time… 1987….
WOW !
This one is on a Multidisk that i made in the beginning on Amiga.
The tune and intro ist absolutly cool…
The game also , i played it for ours, then this Game has no END !!
Someone should make a "Sounds of ST01" musicdisk, with all the best early amiga mods that we all love… I vote Newton codes it, since he’s got E-UAE working now 🙂
hi. one of the first amiga intros that i got my eyes on. absolutely fantastic obarski tune mod.crystalhammer. i loaded the game to see the blizzard-logo-sprites bounce up and down. wasn’t 1987 a fantastic year?
anyone knows what happened to this early amiga group? to which groups did the members divide into?
i remember a demo with the xenon 1 music by whittaker from them. but seems they died somewhere in 1988
this has a very special place in my heart. When i bought my amiga i got a couple of games with it. One of these was crystal hammer, so i have been watching this intro sooo much. awesome music, and for me the scent of the scene… secret cool names and the arcane art of machinecode programming. I always wanted to code a simple scroller like this, but to do it in basic on the c64 wasn’t really working.
Absolutely…I still get chills. Crystal was the first game I remember seeing on a friend’s Dad’s A1000 on a visit to his house. Of course, hearing it all those years in NTSC-Land makes it just seem to drag at PAL speed. Not all tunes are like this for me, but this one for sure. So epic, either way!
O.H.R.W.U.R.M !!
Amazing track, watched this intro for hours and hours… 🙂
JJ (H.S) later did the Amiga versions of Turrican as a member of Factor 5 (TLC 1941).

hahaha^^^^^^ 3 years later I’m still as stoked as I was 27 years ago.
My last comment on this was from 2007 and, like you, i’m still jamming 🙂
This brings back memories, sitting at my dad’s Amiga and playing this music for I don’t know how long…
hehe yes, JJ is/was one of the best coders i have ever met, very talented guy
Oh.. thanks for reminding. I should have remembered that 😀
think bw meant, that tlc switched to the dark side and named themselves factor 5, developing games till may 2009…
@BrainWalker.. opem up a bit more that "the rest is history" 😉

@WayneK I am afraid my 68000-fu is weak these days 🙂
But it sure would be more fun than j2ee consulting…
a classic one with simple scroll-routine, but extreme cool music! the logo roxxx 😀
