It’s that ultra-cool thing which cost 850,- DM and most of us from my neck o’ the woods couldn’t afford and drooled over. Took me three years of odd jobs working entire Summers, smuggling coffee and re-selling A500’s, A600’s and various ancillary equipment for them plus selling my C=128D to scrape enough money to get an A1200.

Mmh? I payed around 350DM back in 95 for a used one in perfect condition plus a cd rom drive.
Yeah but you didn’t live in a country where computers were officially unavailable then. Also I bought mine brand new in 1995, right before C= went tits-up, after they did the price dropped like a rock. I sold mine together with a 536 MB Seagate IDE drive for 1000,- DM in June 1996 and that was only because it had a 3.5″ hard drive, which was an extremely expensive performance option in my neck o’ the woods. Nice story Annatar. I used SUN stations + Solaris somewhere between… 2001-2004 I think, and it was a solid OS and HW. Till today, SPARC servers + Solaris OS are used somewhere in the datacenters around us ;). But not for long, thou… Sniff…
