I don’t think Commodore64 ever had anything so bad as Amiga intros from the ’80’s, not even when people were first learning to code on it, which utterly baffles me, since Amiga could actually do really slick stuff. It appears to be an inexplicable phenomenon specific to the Amiga platform. Fascinating, in a perverse way.

My opinion as someone who’s coded Amiga stuff and tried to code C64 stuff: it’s easier to code an intro on the Amiga than on the C64. Note I said “to code and intro” and not “to code a decent intro”. So… on the Amiga you can get some code together quite easily that will do something like run a scroller or change colours with the copper. But on the C64 you need to know a little bit more about what you’re doing. You have no copper to keep things nicely in sync with the screen for example – on… Read more »

Also remember, everybody came from c64 and 8 colors and the SID chip, so in the beginning the biggest draw were 4096 colors and 16bit sound. It was only later it became cool to use chiptunes, hand dithered logos etc.

Shut Berlin is the coolest name in Amiga history, and this a great coppergasm 🙂

so, thats how shut berlin started. Surely a colorful intro with a nice DM sample as Storm already stated. The release and intro is from 1987 considering this and that it only is a mailtraders spreadtro its decent enough. The game was a well spread freeware clone of space invaders and therefore a rather poor release.

depeche mode: master and servant loop … and lots of old-skool names in the scroller.
