I became acquainted with him here on Flashtro. After I had posted my first comments he contacted me and we exchanged a couple of emails in which – among other things – he tried to convince me to start coding on Amiga again. But we lost sight of each other and it took ca. 15 years to “meet” again. And once more, he suggested I should resume my Amiga activities. After a short phase of reluctance I did as he had proposed what he commented with “find ick jut”; since then we were in regular exchange. I sent him my… Read more »
Really sad news, just numb with the shock of it all. For those interested, a friend of mine contacted me asking if i’d heard from Stingray recently as he usually does a Xmas post on Facebook where he hides an Amiga related tree decoration, and it was always a joke when he posted it, and yet Stingray usually replied but didn’t. I told my friend that no, I hadn’t heard from him in a while, and hey, I haven’t heard from Ross for a while either. Checked out all the usual haunts, and Stingray was last in contact in October,… Read more »
That’s horrible. Generation X has started to die out. I wonder every day, how many will make it to retirement.
I appreciate that you popped in to keep us in the loop.

This is such sad news that Stingray has passed. He was around in the early days of this site and helped make flashtro what it is today with his trainers, intros and coding skills.
That’s really sad news, Stingray was always nice to chat to and very helpful when I was just starting out coding/cracking on Amiga – one of the good guys!
Sad news. His family and friends lost a loved one, the Amigascene loses a great guy and his knowledge and expertise. Really hard to face, that guys pass away with only 50 or something. Seems he died last November (24). The beautiful cracktro can’t help the loss, just recall memories to those, who knew him personally
Very sad news today, will miss the chats and all the hints he gave me from time to time. Hard to realize how many people from the amiga community already passed away, better live everyday as if it was the last. 🙁 R.I.P. Stinger.

That would take a lot of money, for I have expensive tastes.
As it is, I can only meditate.
Gone but not forgotten so long as our hearts beat in our chests and our minds continue to function.
