I loved this intro back in the day, but at the same time, it saddened me: it was one of the last, if not the last of the Hotline intros, and at the same time this is when the originals began to dry up. The Amiga had begun to really boom. Cool and sad times, mixed feelings. I had begun saving for my first Amiga 500, which had taken another three years until I was able to afford it. It also meant selling my C= 128D and pissing off my family. They were annoyed but for me the writing was… Read more »
Yessiree Bob! And it’s not the only such intro: Hotline was the only group which I’m aware of that had multiple such intros on the C=64 which would have several different variations and randomly run one of those. It was their schtick.
My view as well. I had always wanted my group to be represented on all the three major platforms: C=64, Amiga and ATARI ST, and Hotline was the inspiration for that. For some reason that I’d love to know though, Hotline never really made it very big on either Amiga or the ATARI ST, although Sledge claims that they were really big on the ATARI ST. I don’t recall ever seeing any of their intros on ATARI ST back in the day though.
Early Quartex was about as firm a guarantee of a perfect crack as you could get. If there was a choice between Quartex, Paranoimia, Ackerlight or Bamiga Sector One, i’d nearly always go for the Quartex release.
I never knew that. Your continued enlightment is greatly appreciated. Your answer also implies that something happened and they were not releasing cracks of the same quality later. I loved them all the same while they were around, bless their hearts. Why did Quartex fall apart?
Groove is in the Heart!
Always liked the cool Logo!
Simple but very stylish. HTL!

On the C64 Hotline was like early Quartex on the Amiga.
I don’t know what that means. Would you mind elaborating on early Quartex on the Amiga?
